Guided Meditation Guided meditation What does it involve? What does it do for me? Where can I get more information, or book a treatment? Guided meditation Guided meditation is a well researched and documented treatment, and there are a lot of extensive documents on the subject, both in libraries and online. BUT personally I prefer to concentrate on the ‘here and now’ of this treatment. For me meditation is a modern and relevant treatment, which is open to, and effective for almost everyone. What does it involve? Guided meditation requires no special equipment, and basically only requires a comfy seat for each client, and a room or area to meditate in, where the client will not be disturbed. Every new client will have an initial free consultation to assess any particular needs they may have, or any problem areas in their life that may be able to be improved. The treatment often starts with an informal chat between the client (or group) and the therapist. Often this informal chat may throw up a common problem or emotion the client (or group) is feeling. After this, I will guide the client through a series of gentle muscle, or breathing exercises (while remaining seated). Once the body has been cleansed of any lingering stress, or negative emotions, we move on to the actual mental journey or story part of the meditation. During this journey, we (myself and the client) will often travel mentally to a safe or picturesque place in our minds, while are bodies are well supported and grounded our chairs. We then ‘come back into the room’, and can either just sit and relax or reflect on the clients journey or thoughts, or maybe just sit still for a short while. What will it do for me? Clients often feel very calm or dreamy after their meditation. But it can also have after effects of calmness or peace which can last for some days after the meditation. My meditation clients come from all walks of life, and have many varied issues they wish to deal with. Regular issues I would deal with include: I also enjoy treating clients who are just seeking a new and effective way to relax, or treat themselves. Several clients also say that they not only feel very at peace after a treatment, but it can sometimes help them to face important decisions or challenges in their lives in a calm and positive manner. I feel that the overall meditation experience (from informal first chat, through to sitting quietly at the end) can be very effective in giving people a positive outlook on life, and to this end I am particularly proud of my recent work with clients who have various addictions. Where can I get more information, or book a treatment? There are often discounts for a clients first guided meditation session, please see the special offers page for our latest offers.
